Meet the Boys

DAVID WICKENDEN
David has an extensive background in cabaret and revue work
both here and abroad, primarily as a dancer. He studied dance
in Paris and his training also incorporated singing and acting.
His most prestigious work included a year at the famous Moulin
Rouge in Paris followed by a further three years in exclusive
Spanish and Portugese Casinos. David's UK work includes a selection
of summer season and pantomime appearances such as `Robinson
Crusoe' in Ayr. He has developed his singing through his performances
with 4 Poofs and a Piano on 'Friday Night With Jonathan Ross'
combined with their busy recording and performing Schedule.

STEPHEN DE MARTIN
Stephen has enjoyed an extensive and varied career. Originally
from Sydney, he studied voice, drama and dance and performed
in various amateur dramatic shows. He started work professionally
in the Sydney club circuit and achieved success with his brother
and sister in a cabaret act. Together they performed extensively
throughout Australasia and went on to become one of Australia's
top line variety acts. Since arriving in the UK in the summer
of 96', Stephen has had an energetic career. He has performed
in several pantomimes and revues around the country, notably
understudy to Mr Eric Sykes. He has appeared as a featured
vocalist in the European tour of `Best of Broadway' and the
German version of `Hair'. He recently appeared in `Can't Stop
The Music' and 'Sammy Cahn' show for Broadway Bound Theatre
Company on the QEII. Stephen is enjoying the success with
4 Poofs and a Piano on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and
looks forward to the continued success of the group.

DAVID ROPER
David began his career performing in bands all over Europe before becoming a musician and musical director in the theatre.
His first professional theatre job was in a production of The Wizard of Oz at the Connaught Theatre in Worthing with Buster Merryfield. He then went on to work extensively in the theatre in Northampton and Derby and at the Young Vic in London. Whilst at the Young Vic he worked on many productions with the very successful Youth Theatre and went on to compose for the highly acclaimed Snow Queen in the main house.
At the age of twenty four he was MD for the European Premiere of `Seesaw' with Helen Shapiro. Since then David has worked extensively in the theatre and on TV as well as a short stint playing for the dolphins at Brighton. He spent two years as MD for `Fame' the Musical both on tour and at the Victoria Palace in London. He has also worked as MD on numerous pantomimes with the likes of Marti Caine, Bonnie Langford, Sue Pollard Joe Pasquale, Lionel Blair and Derek Griffiths.
David’s TV musical direction credits include `We've Got Your Number' `The National Lottery' programme with Brian Conley, `Sing It Your Way' with Ian Wright and Denise Van Outen for Carlton, `Dating Hell' with Rowland Rivron for Sky One, 'Lorraine Live' with Lorraine Kelly, `Singled Out' for MTV and Richard Bacon's `Rent Free' (BBC), Brian Conley's `Judgment Day' for ITV.
Most recently he conducted The Sound Of Musicals for BBC One with Ruthy Henshall, John Barrowman, Sir Willard White, Mica Paris, Aled Jones and a star studded additional line up. His Piano Accorion skills can be heard on Oz And James’ Big Wine Adventure on BBC Two.
In the world of commercials he recently produced and performed a series of acclaimed radio ads for Ocado both solo and with the other Poofs. He was the original ‘Ocado Man’ as well as being the Piano Poof.

IAN PARKIN
Ian is no stranger to the stage. After completing studies
at the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama, he joined the
Black and White Minstrels for two seasons in the UK and Malta.
He also appeared in the sell-out National tours of `Joseph'
and `Jesus Christ Superstar'. In the West End he has appeared
with the late Noele Gordon in `Call me Madame'; Lulu and George
Cole in `Peter Pan' and as Caleb in `Seven Brides for Seven
Brothers'. As a cabaret artist Ian has sung in various venues
from Bury St Edmunds to Nashville Tennessee. He appeared in
the films 'Gunbus'; 'Anxiety' and `The Nutcracker' with Joan
Collins. On television Ian has worked with Erik Sykes, Kelly
Monteith, Graham Norton and Michael Barrymore. He was involved
in two Childrens' Royal Variety Shows and in 1985 appeared
before HM Queen Elizabeth at the Royal Variety Show in Drury
Lane.
